BMC cracks whip on eateries, shops violating Covid guidelines

Bhubaneswar: Tightening the noose around shops and eateries in Bhubaneswar city violating Covid protocol, the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation’s Covid Enforcement squad today carried out raids in Infocity Khao Gali area and Patia.

During the enforcement 99 Hints bar, Infocity was closed and a Rs 5,000 fine collected from 99North Restaurant in the same locality for violating Covid guidelines.

Also, one food van was closed and a Rs 13,500 fine collected from the other food shops as their staff and customers were not wearing masks.

One tea shop Tapri Time near KIMS was also closed as heavy crowding was observed.

The enforcement was carried out under the leadership of Additional Commissioner Laxmikant Sethi, ZDC North Purandar Nanda and Assistant Commissioner, Enforcement Lilan Prasad Sahu.
