Cuttack: Considering the application submitted by the Board of Secondary Education (BSE), the Odisha Human Rights Commission (OHRC) today ordered the board to conduct offline exam for 139 differently-abled Class 10 students.
In a statement, the board said facilities as per the guidelines will be provided to the differently-abled students by following the OHRC order. Also, it informed offline exam centres at Subdega and Kutra in Sundargarh district were shifted to B.S. High School, Sundargarh.
The human rights commission also directed the Social Security & Empowerment of Persons With Disabilities Department to make arrangements for stay and transportation of differently-abled students appearing for the offline exam.
Worth mentioning, on July 26, 2021, the commission directed the BSE, Odisha not to conduct the offline exam for the 139 differently-abled students. However, today, the commission modified its earlier order.
The offline exam will be conducted by the board for Class 10 students who were not satisfied with the marks allotted to them on basis of an alternate assessment mechanism.
