Body fished out from well in Odisha capital; murder suspected

Commissionerate police recovered a man’s body from a well located in Sarakantara village under Khandagiri police limits in the Odisha capital this evening.

The deceased was identified as Prasanna Kumar Sahu (50), a native of the same village.

Local police, along with the fire tender officials, fished out the body from the well by filling water in it. The deceased is the son of Radhamohan Sahu, a former lower rank Odisha Police official.

Family members suspect that Prasanna’s body was thrown into the well after he was murdered. They have lodged a complaint at the local police station demanding a proper and thorough investigation into the matter.

The police reached the spot after getting a call from the locals who spotted the dead body.

Police said the body would be sent to the Capital Hospital here for an autopsy to ascertain the cause of the death.
