Body of third member of a family recovered from reservoir in Odisha

Three bodies have been recovered from Chiplima powerhouse channel in the last three days in Odisha’s Sambalpur district with the latest being recovered this morning.

While the bodies of two minors were fished out in the last three days, the body of a woman identified as M Kalyani has been recovered today.

The deceased belong to a family hailing from Dulampur village under Atabira police station limits in Bargarh district.

The body of Kalyani’s two-year-old son and seven-year-old daughter was recovered from the reservoir on Friday and Thursday respectively from the same area.

According to reports, the husband of the deceased had filed a missing complaint with the police that the trio went missing since Monday when Mahashivratri was celebrated across the state.

Surprisingly, the man–a vegetable vendor– is also missing raising many questions.

The reason of deaths could be ascertained after getting the post-mortem report. The body of the woman has also been sent for autopsy to VIMSAR, Burla today, a police officer said.

Meanwhile, local police have begun investigation into the incident.
