Earlier on January 12, Mishra’s bail plea was rejected by the Sub Divisional Judicial Magistrate (SDJM) Court here.

The SDJM court had also allowed the Twin City Commissionerate police to take Mishra on a three-day remand beginning from January 14 for questioning over the incident. Mishra would be produced before the court tomorrow.

The police had on January 6 moved the SDJM court seeking Mishra’s inclusion as an accused in the case.

A criminal Ganesh Sahu of CDA area in Cuttack who has been arrested in the case had revealed to the police during interrogation that the bomb was hurled under Mishra’s direction, police had said.

According to reports, bomb was hurled at lawyer Abhay Bhatt near Press Chhak here on September 21, 2013 in an attempt to kill him. Mishra at that time wanted to purchase a piece of land worth Rs 72 lakh but it was Bhatt who succeeded in buying it. Getting furious over the incident, Mishra might have directed to hurl bomb at Bhatt, police suspect.

The OSL chief, who has been arrested in connection with the murder of Seaways Shipping and Logistics Private Limited (SSPL) General Manager Mahendra Swain in Paradip, is currently lodged at the Choudwar Circle Jail.

Mishra was earlier lodged at Samagol Jail in Jagatsinghpur district after his arrest and was shifted to Choudwar Jail on January 12 after his bail plea was rejected by the SDJM Court here.
