Bombing, firing post group clash over idol immersion in Odisha’s Puri

Puri: A group clash over a Ganesh idol immersion turned ugly at Brahmpura village under Krushnaprasad block in Odisha’s Puri district today as two groups resorted to bombing and firing at each other.

While 20 persons were injured in the violence, around 20 houses were damaged in the bombings, reports said, adding that about 50 rounds of bullets have been fired during the clash.

On being informed, Krushnaprasad police station IIC Subash Panda reached near Brahmpura with police forces through boat as the village lacks road connectivity.

Till last reports came in, the cops were unable to enter the village due to continuous bombings.
