Bomikhal flyover collapse: Look out circular against 2 directors of Panda Infra

Bhubaneswar: The Twin City Commissionerate police today issued look out circular against two directors of Panda Infra, the company that had undertaken the construction work of Bomikhal flyover in Odisha capital which collapsed.

The look out circular has been issued against Sujata Panda and Santosh Panda as both are currently absconding, reports said.

Yesterday, the firm’s chief Pratap Panda was sent to judicial custody for 14 days after rejection of his bail plea by a local court.

He had surrendered before Bhubaneswar DCP Satyabrata Bhoi on September 11 after which he was taken into custody.

Worth mentioning, a case has been registered against Pratap Panda, Sujata Panda and Santosh Panda– three members of the Board of Directors of Panda Infra– under Sections 304, 337, 338 and 34 of IPC at Laxmi Sagar police station.

Notably, one person was killed and around 15 others were injured when a portion of an under construction road over bridge (ROB) at Bomikhal caved in on September 10.

PIL filed in HC

A public interest litigation (PIL) was today filed in the Orissa High Court demanding cancellation of licence of the construction company, probe into the incident by a special investigation team (SIT) and action against all those involved.

Executive Engineer moves HC for bail

Executive Engineer Dukhabandhu Behera, who was placed under suspension in connection with the incident, today moved the Orissa High Court seeking anticipatory bail.
