Bomikhal flyover mishap: Odisha police arrest Panda Infra chief

Bhubaneswar: Pratap Panda, chief of Panda Infra, the company that had undertaken the construction work of Bomikhal flyover in Odisha capital which collapsed yesterday killing a person and injuring 11 others, was arrested today, said Twin City Police Commissioner YB Khurania.

Panda surrendered before Bhubaneswar DCP Satyabrata Bhoi following which he was taken into custody. After recording of his statement, he will be forwarded to court, the police official said.

A case has been registered against Pratap Panda, Sujata Panda and Santosh Panda– three members of the Board of Directors of Panda Infra– under Sections 304, 337, 338 and 34 of IPC at Laxmi Sagar police station.

Earlier in the day, the Twin City Commissionerate Police had sealed the company’s office at Vivekananda Marg here.
