Boudh district joins COVID-19 affected list, Odisha tally mounts to 377

Bhubaneswar: Boudh district joined the COVID-19 affected districts of Odisha after three persons tested positive today evening. Official sources said all the three persons are Surat returnees and were detected positive for the deadly virus while being at the institutional quarantine.

Two more positive cases were detected in Angul whereas seven more tested positive in Ganjam district. One more COVID-19 case was detected in Jajpur district and two more persons tested positive for the infection in Puri district.

Official sources added the two fresh cases in Puri district have recent travel history to West Bengal.

New cases detected in Angul and Ganjam districts are Surat returnees, the official sources added.

Earlier in the day, four more cases were detected from Jajpur district and six from Bhadrak district.

So far, a total of 377 persons have tested positive for COVID-19 in Odisha, The number of active cases stands at 306. While 68 cured from the infection, three died of the disease. A total of 21 districts of the State have been affected by COVID-19.
