Brahma Kumaris Chief Dadi Janki no more; PM Modi expresses grief

Rajasthan:  Prajapita Brahma Kumari  Dadi Janki, the Chief Brahma Kumaris, passed away at Global Hospital and Research Centre at Mount Abu in Rajasthan today. She was 104 and took her last breath at 2 am at the hospital.

Dadi Janki’s official Twitter handle shared the news of her demise early this morning .

As per information, Dadi Janki was suffering from stomach ailments from the last two months. Her last rites will be conducted at 3.30 pm today on a ground opposite of the Brahma Kumaris International Headquarters at Shantivan, near Abu Road.

While Dadi Janki’s followers are mourning her demise, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his deep condolence to the departed soul. He took to Twitter and wrote, “ Rajyogini Dadi Janki, Chief of the Brahma Kumaris, served society with diligence. She toiled to bring a positive difference in the lives of others. Her efforts towards empowering women were noteworthy. My thoughts are with hr countless followers in this sad hour. Om Shanti.”

Born in 1916, Dadi Janki had been associated with Brahma Kumaris since 1937. She was recognized for her unique work for purity of mind and soul and external hygiene across the world. She was also nominated as the Brand Ambassador of Swachh Bharat Mission by the Government of India.
