Brazil get World Cup campaign off to winning start

Sao Paulo, June 13 

Brazil started their 2014 FIFA World Cup campaign on a winning note, courtesy two goals from star forward Neymar and one from Oscar as they beat Croatia 3-1 in a Group A match at the Arena de Sao Paulo here Thursday.

Marcelo scored Brazil’s first own goal in World Cup finals, putting the ball in the back of his net from an Olic low cross in the 11th minute.

Neymar equalised in the 29th minute with a grounded left-foot shot creeping in past the opposition keeper.

Brazil striker Fred won a dubious penalty which Neymar converted in the 71st minute while Oscar rounded off the scoring in the 90th win.
