Bridge washed away due to incessant downpour in Odisha’s Keonjhar

Keonjhar: Continuous downpour in Anandapur of Odisha’s Keonjhar district has washed away a bridge near Sarei causing major inconvenience to the villagers.

Heavy rainfall last night has washed away Fafudia bridge crippling normal life in the area.

Communication between Sarei and NH-20 has been disrupted. It is a regular passage for locals, school and college students. The bridge was in a dilapidated condition and the villagers had complained to the concerned officials.

Last year, the Rural Development Department had constructed the bridge at the cost of Rs 2 lakh. However, due to continuous rainfall last night, the bridge was washed away leaving 10 panchayats of Ghasipura submerged in water.
