Broad daylight firing in Odisha capital; miscreants flee

Bhubaneswar: A broad daylight firing took place in Odisha capital today after bike-borne miscreants opened fire at a youth in Kalinga Nagar area under Tamando police limits.

According to reports, the youth identified as Sanjay Khuntia is accused in a case and has been released from jail on bail. This morning, three unidentified miscreants came on a motorcycle and opened four rounds of fire aiming at him before fleeing the spot.

However, Khuntia managed to save himself by rushing into a nearby house.

On receiving the information, police reached the spot, recovered a shell and began investigation in this connection.

Primary investigation suggests this can be a case of previous enmity, said police sources.
