Builder arrested in Odisha capital for duping businessman

Commissionerate Police on Thursday arrested a builder in the Odisha capital for allegedly duping a businessman by reneging on his promise to provide a good piece of land on the city outskirts.

Acting on the complaint filed by the duped businessman, Chandaka Police arrested Suvendu Kumar Das, owner of A-Z Construction Private Limited, from his residence at Patia under Chandrasekharpur police limits.

According to police sources, Das had taken Rs 2.10 crores from the person to provide three acres of land at Kantabada Mouza under Chandaka police limits along with land documents. But he neither handed over any land to the businessman nor returned the money he had taken from him even after repeated requests.

With no hope of getting his money back, the businessman had lodged a complaint witb Chandaka police.
