According to DIG CB Rajesh Kumar, Ghadei had collected Rs 4 crore from the NRI woman Subra Mohanty after promising her ownership of over 100 acres of land in and around Cuttack between 2009-2012. The lady, a resident of Palaspalli, had approached the Darubrahma MD for the land deal to start an NGO at the place.

Ghadei, who hails from Kendrapara and was running his office in the Saheed Nagar area here, failed to hand over the promised land within the specified time frame.

Afterfailing to contact Ghadei despite repeated attempts, the victim lodged a complaint report with Lalbagh police station in Cuttack on 26 October 2013.

On February 14 this year, the EOW of State CB took over the case after police failed to make much headway. “During interrogation, we got to know that out of 100 acres of promised land, documents given by Ghadei for only 7 acres were genuine while the rest were fake documents,” the DIG said.

“Investigation is on to arrest more persons involved in the fraudulent land deal. Besides the arrest of company’s MD, a four wheeler having registration number- OD 02B 5066 was also seized,” he added.
