Bus fares slashed across categories in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The bus fare across Odisha was today reduced by two to four paise per kilometre under automatic fare revision mechanism after reduction of fuel price three days ago.

According to a notification issued by the State Transport Commissioner, the fare for ordinary and express buses has been reduced by 2 paise per km.

The fare of deluxe and AC deluxe buses by 4 paise per km, the notification added.

With this cut coming into effect, the fare for ordinary buses will now be 70 paise per km as against 72 paise per km earlier while the fare for express buses has been slashed to 73 paise from 75 paise per km.

After today’s fall in the fair, deluxe category buses will now charge Rs 1.01 per km as against Rs 1.05 earlier and commuters travelling in AC Deluxe buses will have to fork out Rs 1.23 instead of the current Rs 1.27 paise per km, the notification added.
