Odisha Sun Times Bureau
Bhubaneswar, Nov 15:

All Odisha Bus Owners’ Association (AOBOA) has called for a state-wide bus strike from December 1 in protest against the proposed hike in motor vehicles tax.

The AOBOA has also opposed plying of city buses under JNRUM beyond city limits. This was announced by AOBOA general secretary Debendra Sahu here today. Sahu said the strike will continue for an indefinite period till the government fulfills their demands.

It may be recalled that the state government had resolved at a Cabinet meeting to raise motor vehicle tax in the state.

The government proposes to bring the amendment for hiking motor vehicles tax in the forthcoming winter session of the Odisha Assembly.

Though the AOBOA had submitted a memorandum to the government on this, it is yet to consider it, lamented Sahu.
