Businessman injured in firing in Odisha’s Cuttack

Cuttack, Mar 27:

A businessman was critically injured in a firing by unidentified miscreants near All India Radio office at Cantonment Road in Odisha’s Cuttack city this morning.

The injured, identified as Sheikh Jalil, was admitted to the ICU of SCB Medical College and Hospital here.

According to reports, Jalil was returning home after dropping his son at school. In the meantime, two youths opened fire at him on Cantonment Road.

Jalil sustained bullet injuries on his belly and was hospitalised.

Cuttack DCP Sanjeev Arora visited the hospital and met the victim and his family members.

Police have started investigation into the incident.

Though the reason behind the firing was yet to be ascertained, it is suspected that the incident was a fallout of past enmity.
