Bhubaneswar, Nov 12:

Pramod’s mother BasantaManjari told the media today that her son’s character should not be assassinated.

“If my daughter-in-law had some complaints about my son, she could have divorced him or glodged a complaint with the police. Or, she could have come to us and told us about it. The allegations against my deceased son are totally baseless,” said Pramod’s mother.

The real intention behind his murder is to usurp property, Pramod’s brother Prashant said. “My brother was never a man of bad character. He has been murdered for his property. We suspect the involvement of four to five more persons in my brother’s murder. We request the police to investigate on these lines to unearth the truth,” he said.

Police Commissioner RP Sharma had told the media yesterday that Pramod was a sexuallly perverted person as understood from the statements of the arrested wife of the deceased during interrogation.

Routray allegedly used to force his wife Trupti to have sexual relationship with other persons and tortured her both physically and mentally, Sharma had maintained.

When it became unbearable for her, Trupti planned to kill him by giving him sleeping pills and strangulating him with her chuni.

Trupti disposed the body with the help of her brother and father, Sharma had said.
