Car crash on Odisha’s Puri-Konark marine drive claims one life, 3 critical

Puri: A fatal car accident near Chikina overbridge on Odisha’s Puri-Konark marine drive last night claimed life of a youth and left three others critically injured.

According to reports, a BMW car, with four persons onboard, rammed into a roadside tree at around 3.30 am resulting in severe damage of the vehicle, besides the casualities.

The deceased has been identified as Nanda Kishore Mohapatra (29), a resident of Ashok Nagar in Bhubaneswar. The injured ones, identified as Kalyan Keshari Samantaray, Suman Patra (26) and Sonali Behera (21), were rescued from the car by Fire personnel using gas cutters. They have been admitted to Puri district headquarters hospital for treatment.

The impact of the collision was so severe that the airbags of the car ruptured, reports said.
