Cash, gold jewellery looted from doctor’s house in Odisha   

Bhadrak: Unidentified miscreants looted cash and gold jewellery worth lakhs of rupees from the house of a doctor, Sasmita Khilar, at Apartibindha colony under Town police limits in Bhadrak district last night.

However, the town police have registered a case in this connection and begun an investigation into the incident.

Sources said when Sasmita and her family members were sleeping last night, the looters broke opened the kitchen door of the house and later decamped with Rs 14,000 cash and jewellery worth lakhs of rupees.

“When I woke up at around 2.30 AM yesterday, I found the almirah in my bedroom opened and all my gold jewellery worth around Rs 15- Rs 20 lakhs were already stolen,” said Sasmita.
