The complainant recorded her statement before Mangalabag police under Sec 161 of CrPC. This apart, another student also recorded her statement before the police as a witness.

Prior to this, the tribal girl was taken for medical examination.

It may be mentioned that the authorities yesterday declared sine die and asked the students to leave the hostel by 7.30 am today.

“We have vacated the hostel to give respect to the government’s decision. We would be back on agitational path after the school reopens. We feel this is an attempt to suppress our agitation,” a nursing student claimed.

Notably, the students had filed an FIR against the principal Kajal Rani Sinha on Wednesday at Mangalabag police station. The FIR was filed under section 341, 331, 354, 294 of IPC and SC/ST Act.

Earlier, a nursing student had alleged that the principal of the government-run institute had ill-treated her and slapped her. Following this, around 200 students had staged a demonstration in the hospital premises demanding ouster and action against the principal.
