Cattle trader thrashed, robbed of Rs 10 lakh in Ganjam

Berhampur:  Unidentified miscreants allegedly looted Rs 10 lakh from a cattle trader after attacking him on Karasing-Udayapur road under Buguda police limits in Ganjam district today.

The victim, who sustained critical injuries in the attack, was later rushed to Buguda hospital for treatment.

Sources said when the cattle trader was returning to his house, three miscreants came on a bike and intercepted him. The trio thrashed him black and blue and later looted Rs 10 lakh cash from him at gun point. The miscreants also threatened to kill him if he lodges police complaint. Later, the cattle trader was admitted to a hospital in Buguda.

Meanwhile, a complaint has been lodged at Buguda police station, following which the cops have begun an investigation into the incident.
