Caught on CCTV: Close shave for bus passengers as truck falls off bridge in Odisha

Keonjhar: Around 50 passengers onboard a bus had a narrow escape as a truck skidded off the road, fell off an overbridge, and turned turtle in front of the bus near Salapada in Odisha’s Keonjhar district, today.

The truck was travelling on the overbridge while the bus was moving on the adjacent service road.

The incident was caught on a CCTV camera.

Presence of mind on the part of the bus driver averted a certain major mishap and saved lives of many as he applied brakes properly and managed to stop the vehicle before the iron ore-laden truck could fall entirely on the Bhubaneswar-bound bus that was carrying passengers from Karanjia in Mayurbhanj district.

The bus cabin was damaged in the mishap while the bus conductor, truck driver, and few passengers sustained injuries.
