CBI raids SAIL official’s house in Odisha capital

The CBI today raided the residence of an executive of Steel Authority of India (SAIL) in the Odisha capital for possessing assets disproportionate to her known sources of income.

The central investigative agency searched the residence of Gitanjali Panda, senior executive assistant in the Materials department of SAIL’s Bhubaneswar branch.

During the raid, the CBI has come to know that she has three buildings estimated to be worth over Rs 5 lakh, ten bank accounts, and two bank lockers in her name, CBI sources said.

CBI sources said the official’s husband was a retired police official and it has seized several incriminating documents adding that the agency has found several clues on her moveable and immoveable properties during the raid.
