City DAVian tops Odisha region in CBSE Class XII

About 81 percent of students of the Odisha region cleared the annual CBSE Class XII examinations the results of which were announced today.

In the Odisha region comprising Chhattisgarh, Odisha and West Bengal, a total of 48,881 students had appeared in the examinations.

While the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya topped the pass results at 97.94 percent, the pass percentage of Kendriya Vidyalayas was 92.90. Besides, the privately managed school have a pass percentage of 83.77.

Barring the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas, girls have outperformed the boys in the remaining schools.

In the Odisha region, Namrata Mohanty of Unit VIII DAV Public School, Bhubaneswar and Deep Bhattacharya of Kolkata have emerged as joint toppers with 98.60 percent of marks.

In the all-India results too, girls have outperformed the boys.

M Gayatri, a girl student of New Green Field School in Saket in New Delhi, emerged as national topper with 99.2 percent marks (496 out of the total 500 marks) while Mythili Mishra, another girl student at Amity International School in Noida, stood second with 99 pecent (495 out of 500), just one mark less than Gayatri.

The average national pass percentage of girls was 87.57 as compared to boys’, which was 77.77 percent.

Overall, Thiruvanathampuram region recorded the highest pass percentage of 95.41.

In Delhi, the overall pass percentage was 86.13 percent. The pass percentage for boys was 81.59 percent, while it was 90.87 percent for girls.

The overall pass percentage in 2015 was 82 percent as compared to 82.70 in 2014.

The results were uploaded on the CBSE websites – www.results.nic.in , www.cbseresults.nic.in  and www.cbse.nic.in -exactly at 12 PM. Sources in the CBSE said the students can access the results by feeding their school code and email-id to register themselves on these sites.

They can also access the results through an Interactive Voice Response System (IVRS) and SMS.

A total of 10,40,368 students had appeared in the Class XII examinations in the country of which 6,07,383 are boys and 4,32,932 are girls.

About 50,000 students from Odisha, Chhattisgarh and West Bengal, which come under the Bhubaneswar region, had appeared in the Class XII examinations of which about 10,000 students are from Odisha.

The CBSE is scheduled to announce the results of Class X examinations on May 27. About 14,000 students from Odisha had appeared in the Class X examinations.
