Centre to provide all help to Odisha govt to tackle flood situation

The Centre today assured the Odisha government of all possible help in the matters of  rescue, relief and rehabilitation of people affected by flood in the state.

Union Home minister Rajnath Singh gave such assurances today when he enquired about the prevailing flood situation in the state from chief minister Naveen Patnaik over phone, sources said.

Singh reportedly told the chief minister that the Centre will provide all cooperation and support in relief and rehabilitation measures as and when required to deal with the flood situation in the state. He said the Centre has already dispatched NDRF teams to Odisha to help the relief and rescue operations.

Union Petroleum minister Dharmendra Pradhan has also promised full cooperation and support to Odisha to tackle the flood situation, the sources added.
