Centurion Univ partners Godrej Materials Handling to train automobile techies

Godrej Materials Handling and Gram Tarang of Centurion University in Odisha have entered into a partnership for skill development of automobile technicians on Monday, in a bid to provide employment-linked training to young people in operations and maintenance of forklift machines.

Anil Lingayat, Business Head of Godrej Material Handling inaugurated the Godrej Diesel Forklift Technician Workshop that would cover operations and maintenance of the machine. This investiture celebrates the new partnership between Godrej Materials Handling (GMH) and Gram Tarang of Centurion University of Technology to offer technical skill to young people from marginalized communities.

Lingayat was accompanied by Neville Wankhadia, asst. vice president, Gunjan Bhargava, dy general manager of Godrej Material Handling at the inauguration ceremony of the Godrej Good & Green CSR initiative.

“Through this partnership, Gram Tarang will be imparting training in upgrading the skills of automobile technicians to produce qualified skilled young people competent to maintain and repair diesel forklift trucks. This will help in development of multiple skills,” Prof (Dr) Mukti Mishra, Chairman, Gram Tarang Group and president, Centurion University of Technology & Management, India said.

“Through this partnership, Gram Tarang – Centurion University will draw strength from the expertise of the GODREJ team and will help co-create a robust, sustainable Industry-academia partnership in skill training,” Sri Mishra added.

It is to be noted that, Gram Tarang is a social entrepreneurial outreach entity of Centurion University located at Bhubaneswar in Odisha imparting  training services aimed at enhanced employability of the trainees.
