Bhubaneswar: Charges were today framed against Odisha comedy actor Tattwa Prakash Satpathy alias Papu Pom Pom by the Special POCSO court here in connection with the minor girl casting couch case.

The charges were framed against Papu, who appeared before the court, under Sections 341, 323 and 354 of the IPC and Sections 8 and 12 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, informed Papu's counsel Ratnakar Nayak.

Notably, Papu is accused of sexually exploiting a minor girl on the pretext of giving her a break in movies.

The Twin City Commissionerate Police had arrested Papu and his aide Pradipta Swain alias Gitu on June 30 last year from an apartment in Puri.

The Orissa High Court had granted conditional bail to Papu and Gitu on August 10 last year.
