China’s DEC to partner in Telangana’s power plans

Hyderabad, Aug 12 :

Dongfang Electric Corporation (DEC) of China Tuesday said it was keen to participate in Telangana’s efforts to add power generation capacity, and offered to set up a 660-1,000 MW plant in the state.DEC China

A delegation from DEC, the world’s largest power equipment manufacturer based in Chengdu in Sichuan province, Tuesday called on Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao.

According to the Chief Minister’s Office, the delegation assured him that the Sichuan provincial government will actively support DEC’s business with Telangana for power projects.

The delegation assured that project finance will be arranged on mutually agreed terms and conditions.

The DEC team included Han Zhiqiao, president of DEC International and chairman of DEC India, Liang Jian, managing director of DEC India, and Zhang Hong, general manager (Thermal) of DEC International China.

DEC has power equipment manufacturing and power projects in more than 30 countries.

It has already supplied power projects equipment to nearly 40,000 MW of power plants in India.

Rao said he would like to visit Chengdu and see the power equipment and other projects there.
