The ten Chinese nationals who were working at Dhamra port and were served with ‘Quit India notice’ on Monday have left Odisha.

The Chinese nationals left Bhadrak for the Chinese Consulate in Kolkata yesterday in the evening in two vehicles.

Earlier, in the day, these Chinese nationals were summoned to Bhadrak district police headquarters from Dhamra and served with ‘Quit India notice’ to leave the country by June 17.

Since these foreign nationals had business visas and were working for a Thai firm without having the requisite work visa the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) had directed the state government to serve ‘Quit India notice’ to them.

Sources said these Chinese nationals were engineers and were working for a Thai company involved in the expansion of Dhamra port.

According to the landlord of the house where these Chinese nationals were staying in his house since February and the house had been taken on rent by SS Construction of Bhadrak.
