Class 10 boy found dead on railway tracks in Mayurbhanj

Baripada: In a tragic incident, a Class 10 student was found dead on  railway tracks near Machapada under Betanoti block in Mayurbhanj district today.

The deceased identified as Bijay Nayak was a student of Gopabandhu Sikshya Niketan School (GSNS).

Sources said Bijay went out of his school hostel in wee hours today to attend nature’s call. It is suspected that the minor died after being hit by a train. His body was found along the railway tracks near the school. On receiving information, the school Headmaster reached the spot and  sent the  body to a hospital in Baisinga, where he was declared dead.

Tension prevailed in the locality following his death after locals gheraoed the school alleging security lapses at the hostel led to the minor’s death. Later, police reached the spot and pacified the irate locals.
