Clean chit to hospital in ‘kidney sale’ case

Cuttack, May 5:

The deputy commissioner of police (DCP), Cuttack has given a clean chit to a high profile hospital in Odisha’s capital city of Bhubaneswar in the sensational kidley sale case in which a woman from a very poor family allegedly sold her kidney to earn some big money.

“No irregularities were committed in the kidney transplant case. Every document was prepared in accordance with the provisions of the law governing organ donations and transplant in India” informed Cuttack DCP Sanjeev Arora here.

Arora made the statement after conducting investigations into reports that a woman, Padmini Nayak of Nayak Sahi under Mangalabag police limits, had allegedly sold her kidney after she was promised Rs 3 lakh by a middleman.
