Clerk in Odisha vigilance net for taking bribe

Balangir: An official in forest department was arrested by the vigilance while taking bribe from a person here in the district.

The accused was identified as Kalindi Charan Bhuyan, a Junior Clerk at the Divisional Forest Office in Balangir.

The vigilance sleuths caught Kalindi red-handed while accepting bribe of Rs 10,000 from the complainant Parshuram Behera.

According to reports, the government official had demanded the bribe amount from Behera to give permission for cutting trees.
