The corporator of ward no. 4 of Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) Giribala Behera was today sent to Choudwar jail after a local court rejected her bail plea.
Behera, a Congress corporator was arrested on Thursday on charges of distributing money to slum dwellers here to vote for party candidates.
Police said the Congress corporator Behera was on Thursday was caught red handed with around Rs 30,000 cash in Kathajodi Vihar of CDA area in the city and arrested.
She has been booked under provisions of the IPC and the Representation of People’s Act, police added.
