Cold wave conditions to grip Odisha during next 3 days; warning issued

Bhubaneswar: The cold wave conditions are likely to grip entire Odisha during next three days. The Regional Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar issued warning suggesting people to stay indoor during night and early morning to avoid exposure to cold.

“Minimum temperature is likely to be below normal by 3 to 5 degree Celsius at most places over the districts of Odisha during next 3 days,” the MeT stated in a weather bulletin today.

The weather forecasters issued yellow warning for many districts till January 31, 2022.

Warning: 

Jan 28-29: Cold wave condition very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Keonjhar, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Bargarh, Balangir, Nuapada, Sonepur, Boudh, Kalahandi and Kandhamal.

Jan 29-30: Cold wave condition very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Keonjhar, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Bargarh, Balangir, Nuapada, Sonepur, Boudh, Kalahandi and Kandhamal.

Jan 30-31: Cold wave condition very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Jharsuguda, Balangir, Bargarh, Sonepur, and Kalahandi.

Action Suggested:

  • Stay indoor during night & early morning and use multiple clothes to avoid exposure to cold.
  • Do arrangement to keep livestock in shaded/indoor area during night.
  • Avoid movement during night specially through two wheelers/open cars
