Cold wave grips Odisha; Bhubaneswar shivers at 9.5 degree C

Bhubaneswar: Cold wave continued to sweep entire Odisha with the mercury dropped below 10 degree Celsius in major towns.

While Daringbadi in Kandhamal district recorded the lowest at 6 degree Celsius amidst cloudy weather on Friday night, the denizens in the State capital Bhubaneswar shivered at 9.5 degree Celsius.

Similarly, the minimum temperature was recorded 7 degree Celsius in Phulbani, 6.6 degree C in Angul, 6.9 degree C in Keonjhar and 6.9 degree C in Sundergarh.

The intense cold is felt during the night with the drop in temperature. The condition continues till 10.00 am.

According to regional Met, the mercury is liked to dip further in next 24 hours and the cold wave to severe cold wave conditions are likely to prevail over several areas including north, west, interior and coastal parts of Odisha.
