College girl run over by truck in Bolangir; locals block NH  

Bolangir: Tension prevailed in Bolangir town after a Plus Two girl student died after being run over by a truck while she was going to college on a bicycle this morning.

The deceased has been identified as Lili Nayak of Rinabachan village of the district.

Sources said, when Lili was going to college on a bicycle, a speeding truck hit her from behind. Critically-injured Lili was rushed to hospital, where doctors declared her brought dead.

Irate over the incident, over a hundred locals, including students and women staged a road blockade on national highway by keeping the dead body on road and burning tyres. They demanded Rs 25 lakh compensation for the family members of the deceased and construction of a bypass road in the locality.

Meanwhile, police personnel were deployed at the protest spot to avoid any untoward incident.
