The SOA University will work on development of a sports drink for nourishment of athletes to be named after Odisha’s ace sprinter Dutee Chand.
“The drink will be a combination of vitamins and nutrients based fully on natural resources. Researchers in the University–run Institute of Medical Sciences (IMS) and Sum Hospital and the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences will work on this,” the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. (Dr.) Amit Banerjee announced while felicitating the sprinter at the University on Monday.
Prof. Banerjee presented Dutee a cheque of Rs. 50,000 and a memento while wishing her success in future events. “You are the pride of the state as well as the country and we wish you great success in your future endeavours,” he told her.
Dutee thanked the University for the support and encouragement extended to her saying it would spur her on to excel in future track events.
