Communal tension erupts in Odisha’s Nemala, police forces deployed

Nemala: Heated argument between two youths over a trivial issue sparked off communal tension at Narendrapur area under Nemala police limits here in Odisha’s Cuttack district today.

The local administration deployed police forces at the area to control the situation after the locals and workers belonging to the Bajrang Dal blocked the road by burning tyres.

The communal violence erupted at Narendrapur panchayat after two youths had heated argument over quick overtake on the road. Following the incident, one of them approached few youths at Kakudiapada and they attacked another youth at his home injuring a woman and a minor boy.

Soon after the incident spread at the village, the locals along with the Bajarang Dal workers blocked the road and gheraoed the minority community slum at Kakudiapada village.

A team of police forces led by DSP Alok Ranjan Ray reached the spot and tried to keep the situation under control.
