Keonjhar, Mar 9:

The Congress today launched a broadside against BJD supremo and chief minister Naveen Patnaik for his ‘double standard’ and ‘pretensions of value-based politics’.BK Hariprasad

Addressing an election rally at Chenapadi junction in Anandpur today AICC general secretary BK Hariprasad slammed the chief minister for wooing leaders from opposition parties in the name of value-based politics and playing a dirty political game.

Taking a dig at the state government for its Centre bashing, Hariprasad said though the Centre has been providing adequate funds to the state government for implementation of several welfare programmes, the latter has failed to utilise the money.

Claiming that the Congress alone could provide good governance in the country, the AICC leader said the party is confident of coming to power both at the Centre and Odisha.

Hariprasad urged the people to strengthen the party by voting for it in large numbers in the ensuing elections.

The meeting was also addressed by PCC chief Jayadev Jena, Union Minister Srikant Jena, AICC secretary Subhankar Sarkar, Congress MP Rajib Biswal and local Congress candidate Madhab Sardar.

PCC president Jayadev Jena said since the BJD government is neck deep in corruption including the mega mining scam, it has no moral right to continue in office.

Union minister Srikant Jena said the BJD government had done precious little for the mineral-rich Keonjhar district though the district’s contribution in terms of revenue generation for Odisha’s exchequer was massive.

“There has been no development in Keonjhar district during the BJD rule”, he alleged.
