Congress holds BJP’s flawed policy responsible for economic slowdown

Bhubaneswar: Former Union Minister and senior Congress leader Deepa Dasmunsi today held the BJP government at the Centre for the economic slowdown and increase in unemployment rate.

Talking to media persons following the ‘Bharat Bachao Samavesh’ in Bhubaneswar, Dasmunsi said the industrial growth at its lowest figure in the last seven years. This apart private investment is at its low in 16 years. Unemployment rate is at its high, she added.

The economic slowdown because of the Centre’s flawed policy has affected the manufacturing sector in a big way. “The AICC president has asked us to visit districts across the country and inform people about the Centre’s failure in ensuring economic growth. Also, she has told us to present the real picture of the country’s situation before the public,” she added.

Earlier the Congress had scheduled to hold the samavesh across the country from November 5 to 15. However, it was postponed in the wake of Ayodhya judgment.

OPCC chief Niranjan Patnaik said the rally will be over across the State by November 30.
