Congress worker found dead in Odisha forest, murder suspected

Nabarangpur: Body of a Congress worker was found from Kusumapani forest in Odisha’s Nabarangpur district today.

The deceased, identified as Abhijit Mandal of Goudasahi village under Jharigaon block in the district, had gone missing on April 9. A complaint in this regard was lodged by his father with Jharigaon police on April 10.

According to reports, Abhijit on the fateful day had informed his mother that he was going to Jharigaon to join an election rally of the party. However, he didn’t return home.

Police recovered the body from the forest this morning. On the basis of circumstantial evidences, it is being suspected that he was murdered. Police have started investigation into the incident.
