Construction of ropeway at Dhauli Pagoda in Odisha capital soon

To attract more tourists, the Odisha government has decided to construct a ropeway at the Dhauli Hill on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar.

This was decided at a meeting presided over by Tourism and Culture minister Ashok Chandra Panda here on Saturday.

The meeting decided to remove the check-gate at the beginning of connecting road and allow light four-wheelers to go from the foothill to near the monument.

The minister directed the concerned officials to acquire land for the development of the area.

For beautification of the area, the Culture and Tourism department would take steps to decorate the road connecting Dhauli hills with lights along with other infrastructure development works.

Among others, secretary, Tourism and Culture, Arabinda Padhee, Khordha collector Niranjan Sahoo, secretary, Works Nalini Pradhan, Bhubaneswar DCP Satyabrat Bhoi and deputy commissioner, transport Manoranjan Pradhan were present.
