Cooch Behar Trophy: Odisha manage draw against Jharkhand

A patient half-century each by Subhrajyoti Mishra and Ranjit Singh helped Odisha force a draw against Jharkhand on the final day of the Cooch Behar U-19 Plate-B tournament here on Wednesday.

After the hosts declared their first innings at their overnight score at 374 for 6, Odisha in their second innings were in trouble after Amrit Khatua went for a duck. However, Subhrajyoti Mishra (75) and Ranjit Singh (71) batted with caution and put up 142 runs for the second wicket.

Odisha was again in trouble after their dismissal. But SP Senapati (42) and DA Rao managed to hang on till the close of play taking the team’s score to 209 for 4.

For Jharkhand, KP Singh took three wickets.

Despite the draw, the hosts got three points on the basis of their first innings lead while Odisha got one point.
