Berhampur, Mar 8:

Odisha police today moved a local court here seeking remand of former Congress legislator from Sanakhemundi Ramesh Jena for further investigation.

The Town Police filed a petition before the Sub Divisional Judicial Magistrate (SDJM) court to take Ramesh Jena on a 14-day remand.

However, the court reserved its verdict on the remand plea. The court is likely to pronounce its verdict tomorrow, sources said.

It may be recalled that Ramesh and four others were sent to Berhampur Circle Jail yesterday after their bail petitions were rejected by the local court.

Notably, the police today sought remand of Ramesh only.
