Corona scare: No order by Odisha govt to oust tenants, clarifies CP

Bhubaneswar: A day after an association in Acharya Vihar here issued a notice asking house owners to oust student tenants in the area, Commissioner of Police (CP) Sudhanshu Sarangi clarified that no such direction has been issued by the Odisha government to the house owners for preventing coronavirus outbreak.

“As per the government directives, we are requesting you to vacate your premises given to the students on rent without any further delay,” the notice read and photos of which went viral on social media.

“No direction has been given either by the State Government or the Police asking house owners to remove tenants to prevent COVID 19 outbreak.The individual has admitted his mistake. We are looking into possible legal action,” tweeted Sarangi.
