Couple killed, 4 injured as truck hits car in Odisha’s Jajpur

In a tragic incident, a couple was killed and four persons sustained critical injuries after a truck hit the car in which they were travelling on NH-215 near Jajpur Road Jail in Odisha’s Jajpur district today.

The injured have been admitted to SCB Medical College and Hospital.

The deceased– identified as Simanchal Panda (68) and Basanti Panda (63)– and victims, all belonging to a family and residents of Kalinga Vihar in Bhubaneswar, were on their way to Ghatagaon in Keonjhar district to have darshan of Goddess Tarini while the accident took place, reports said.

The couple died on the spot and the rest were hospitalised, reports added.
