COVID-19: Anubhav Mohanty pledges Rs 1.05 cr MPLAD funds for Cuttack & Kendrapara

Bhubaneswar:  In order to  stay prepared with emergency measures amidst the coronavirus outbreak in the state, actor-turned politician Anubhav Mohanty on Friday wrote to Kendrapara Collector for dispensation of Rs 1.05 crore from his MPLAD funds for purchase of necessary equipment for COVID-19.

Expressing his concern that the coronavirus outbreak might get more severe in the coming days, the BJD MP  wrote to the district Collector Samarth Verma to release the whopping amount from his MPLAD funds for the year 2019-2020. The funds will be utilized for the purchase of testing and screening kit and other equipment to keep people of his constituency safe from the deadly virus.

He will utilize Rs 75 lakh for Kendrapara district and Rs 30 Lakhs for Cuttack under his parliamentary constituency for immediate prevention and awareness on COVID-19.

Mohanty further urged the district Collector to consider his letter ‘most urgent’ and execute necessary steps in its favour at the earliest so that both the districts could be made ready to deal with any adversities due to the lethal virus.
