‘COVID-19 cases will decline in Odisha in one-and-a-half months’

Bhubaneswar:  Directorate of Medical Education and Training (DMET) Director  Dr CBK Mohanty today informed that COVID-19 cases will decline in Odisha within one-and-a-half months.

Speaking to mediapersons, Dr Mohanty said transmission of the deadly virus will slow down in next one-and-a-half months. People should be cautious and strictly follow all the guidelines, including mass-wearing and social distancing.

“Odisha’s COVID-19 recovery rate is good as compared to other states. The fatality rate is also less in the state,” he added.

Regarding plasma therapy, the DMET Director said so far 565 patients have been given the therapy in the state. While  114 of them have cured and been discharged from hospitals, condition of remaining patients treated through the therapy is stable.

Odisha’s COVID-19 tally  today surged to 1,13,411 after 3631 more persons tested positive for the virus. The number of active cases stands at 28,763.  So far, 84,073 patients have recovered from the decease in the state.
